Update: I was just thinking further about this and it occurred to me the same folks who think this is okay:

(Hey! Don't worry, we won't misuse your info! Why would you think that, Adoptive Parent who weighs 155 lbs. and whose Christianity threatens the Republic #577-0?)
These are the same folks who think it's intrusive to ask people to show an i.d. when they vote.
