I Wish This Were a Tomato Post

It is St. Patrick's day and feels like summer. Went to Home Depot for some grass seed and soil to fill in the boys' football patch (which, who am I kidding, is the entire front yard, basically).

We had a non-existent winter and people were buying tomato plants today.  On March 17th!

You have no idea how much I wanted to join them and how hard it remains for me to accept the idea that other folk will have home-grown tomatoes before I do.

But I have a no flowers in the porch pots until Easter Sunday policy (they go in at Easter Vigil), and it felt un-Lenten to buy tomatoes today as well.  Heavy sigh. Is Lent over yet?
