Today's the feast of St. Nicholas. The boots we left by the fireplace last night were replete with chocolate coins and candy canes this morning...also appropriate reading for the Advent season.At left you see Masaccio's rendition of our man saving three sisters from prostitution (from which story the whole stockings by the fireplace thing is derived).
