The story. Everyone's mad at Condi and scoffing at the process, but I gather behind the scenes the true purpose of the current sessions is not so much a Palestinian State as control of Hamas, which is in everyone's interest except Iran's:
A U.S.-backed push for a future Palestinian state hinges on President Mahmoud Abbas doing what may seem impossible -- getting Hamas Islamists to give up the Gaza Strip and disarm.Judging by the hysteria of bin-Laden & the Iranians, this just might be another case of Conservatives turning on Bush without cause. Nevertheless, it is hard to imagine peace with people who still believe in cooties.
