Who Promoted Peress*?

Here's WaPo citing with approval Congressman Waxman's

threatening, subpoenaing and just plain badgering

of Condoleeza Rice (and everyone else in the known world). Hmm. Mean, vindictive browbeating and guilt by association (only the accepted term now is "perceived conflict of interest"). I thought WaPo was against McCarthyism?
