Not Holding My Breath For A Censure Move

Congressman Pete Stark, during the (failed) effort to override the President's veto of S-CHIP:

“You don't have money to fund the war or children,'' he said. "But you're going to spend it to blow up innocent people if we can get enough kids to grow old enough for you to send to Iraq to get their heads blown off for the president's amusement."

The remark is outside the bounds of decency. And extremely stupid when we consider the probable trajectory of S-CHIP: Dems & Repubs will now draft compromise language that bars the children of illegal aliens from receiving coverage; the new bill will pass & the President will sign. About 6 months later (if that), someone will sue, alleging the legislation is discriminatory, and some federal judge will rule that everyone must be covered after all, and we will have S-CHIP under a different name by judicial ukase.
