We Must Hope For Everything

Madeleine L'Engle has died (Curtsy: ninme). I finally got around to reading A Wrinkle In Time just last month (kids are an excellent excuse to revisit the canon). Feels like it was just in time. The Gray Lady's obit is much fuller, including the news she took no Science classes in college.
“Why does anybody tell a story?” Ms. L’Engle once asked, even though she knew the answer.

“It does indeed have something to do with faith,” she said, “faith that the universe has meaning, that our little human lives are not irrelevant, that what we choose or say or do matters, matters cosmically.”

Update: ninme found this lovely personal remembrance of her from John Podhoretz.
