Bill Kristol makes the Bush: Winner case in WaPo. There's an inside joke for Straussians in the opening line:

I suppose I'll merely expose myself to harmless ridicule if I make the following assertion: George W. Bush's presidency will probably be a successful one.

Strauss opens his treatment of Machiavelli by supposing he'll be exposed to harmless ridicule if he says Machiavelli is a teacher of evil.
