Something About Motu

What the press is likely to report about the coming derestriction of the Pian Mass (a handy guide for journalists). What the actual issue is. Also:In comments here, someone points out that it's the John XXIII version of the mass which is to be derestricted, and suggests we refer to it as such:
“messale promulgato da Giovanni XXIII nel 1962” Yes, I like that! I think we should work to have the “Mass of John XXIII” used in the press as the name for the liturgy to be freed up by the Motu Proprio.
Actually, for reasons I may post about, I'm not wild about the Mass of John XXIII versus the Novus Ordo celebrated solemnly. But as there are already seven rites of the Church , and these can be sub-divided into dozens, (scroll down in the link to the chart), and we have an Anglican use rite and a Dominican rite, I don't see why so-called "Traditionalists" should be the only Catholics not to have a liturgy they can love. This in addition of course to the larger question of the "reform of the reform" Joseph Ratzinger has been calling for for umpteen years. I don't know if derestriction will be the revolution devotees of the mass are hoping for, but it'll be a help.
