Haditha Marines innocent. As some people noticed about a year ago.
The first link is to a NewsMax piece reporting on newly de-classified evidence that proves the Marines' innocence beyond doubt. The piece rightly slams Time for its unbelievably sloppy "reporting," and takes down WaPo's Ellen Knickmeyer for same. However, in fairness, the Post did report the probably innocence of the Marines later that year --in August, 3 months after the Knickmeyer story. Newsmax didn't seem to notice that.
Do follow the link, however. The reporting of this war reminds me of the story of Reagan in his radio days. Once he lost the feed for the baseball game he was calling and he kept doing the play-by-play anyway --just making it up until the feed came back. We could get a better sense of the war if the reporters called it in from home if they don't have any more sense than to credulously repeat whatever any Iraqi says --never dreaming they could be speaking to terrorists.
