A friend who's studying for the priesthood had the opportunity to participate in the Corpus Christi celebration in Orvieto, whose cathedral houses the relics of one of the most famous eucharistic miracles --the one that started the feast (read about it at #7828, the Avvenire article here). The actual miracle took place in the little town of Bolsena, and my friend sent along these photos from the procession there later in the afternoon. Most of the townspeople take part in period dress and the "carpets" for the Lord are made of flower petals. He writes:
All along the way people were singing and it seemed as if the whole town was one giant church. ...an experience I will never forget.
