Squirrels Don't Recycle

|
I have been trying to throw away an empty peanut butter jar for a week. The squirrel who inhabits the willow oak in our front yard keeps digging it out of the recycling bin (somehow he got the lid off), and leaving it on the front lawn. This morning on the way to mass we found the squirrel inside the jar helping himself to a peanut feast, but of course he fled when he saw us coming. By now he's pretty much licked the jar clean, so I figured we'd at last seen the last of that stupid jar when I picked it up and put it on top of the recyclables bin, which was at the curb awaiting imminent pick-up. We returned half an hour later to find the jar right back on the front lawn. Benevolence of nature, hah.
