The Other "Religion of Peace"

With a curtsy to Mere Comments, here's a story on a crowd of Hindus roughing up some Sisters of Charity. This is the latest episode in increasing Hindu anti-Christian violence. The story is weird. Mother Teresa made a point of not aggressively working for conversions --she just allowed them to come naturally (if they did) as a result of the witness of charity. I'm sure that's what the good Msgr. charged with defending the nuns means, but this sounds strange nonetheless:
The allegations of conversions are utterly baseless and unjust. This act reveals not only bigotry on the part of those who committed it, but also ignorance of the needs of the poor.” He added: “I emphatically state that no religious congregation indulges in conversions and Mother Teresa sisters are known to be doing exclusively social work, hence there is absolutely no room for misunderstanding on this point.
