Lady Thatcher's taped remarks at Ronald Reagan's funeral were tremendous, and in her frail state of health, no one could have faulted her if she'd sent the tape and stayed home. But she came to Washington. Among the most moving tributes to Reagan to my mind was the silent witness she gave by additionally attending the California service. I was so moved by that, I sent her a thank you note. I'm remembering this because of the photo of her (can't find it for you) at Cap Weinberger's funeral at Arlington Cemetery. Here's the Beeb story (I had no idea he was "Sir Cap.") It's rare enough in life, to say nothing of politics, to find friends who stand by you to the end.
