I don't fault people for searching for natural explanations, but sometimes they try too hard. Here's a researcher who says Jesus could walk on water because in his day Lake Galilee was dotted with floating ice.
"I don't know whether the story is based on someone seeing Jesus walk on ice," said Doron Nof, an Israel-born professor of oceanography at Florida State University. "All I know is that during that time, a freeze could have happened -- and it could have looked like someone was walking on water, particularly if it rained after the ice formed."Ah. Two miracles for the price of one now: "the real miracle" was that he kept his balance while hopscotching on patches of ice all the way out to the disciples' boat in the midst of a storm. And that he saved Peter from hypothermia when he fell into that frozen sea.
The same researcher says the Red Sea was shallow in Moses' time, so a wind could easily have parted it. Well, Praise the Lord and Hallelujah! Pharoah's armies drowned in six inches of water when the wind shifted directions!
Here's a tip: If you're gonna do Biblical de-bunking, you should take the time to read the whole story, or you'll give them crazy Jews & Christians more reason to believe.
