Welcome To The Family

|
Meant to post this over the weekend. About 1200 people are entering the Catholic Church this Easter in the Archdiocese of Washington. Monday night, at a prep meeting for parents whose kids are making first communion in May, we were introduced to a 14-year-old girl who's coming in (wouldn't I like to know her story?), as well as a family of 8 all entering together. As Cardinal Ratzinger said at JP G's funeral, "the Church is young."
"Welcome to full Communion," said Cardinal Theodore E. McCarrick, archbishop of Washington, after each of the two ceremonies held yesterday afternoon. "You knew you needed something more than you had. ... Somehow, over all the noise of the world, you heard the Lord say, 'I want you to hear I love you, and I want you to come into My family.'"
