Letters, Lots of Letters

|
Sorry for the unannounced radio silence. I was in charge (with help from several gracious donors and an even more gracious helper & her helper daughter) of hosting 35 teen pilgrims in town for the March for Life and staying in our parish hall. No big whoop, really, but coordinating everything took more time than I thought. (Red Cross cots, hall key retrieval, etc.) And when I got back from serving breakfast & cleaning up, I was just in time to blow off a column deadline and head out to the March myself.
It was a great day. The crowd was enormous, mostly young people, everyone in high spirits. There was even a group that brought drums and a trumpet along and played Mexican folk classics --Cielito Lindo-- (you know it: ay-yi-yi-yi. . . ), etc.. Ran into lots of friends along the way, and when we finished, we went to a reception hosted by the Susan B. Anthony list. Emerging from the party an hour later, there was still a juggernaut of marchers filing past the Supreme Court --so many we couldn't head home down 1st St. Nothing like the M for L to make you feel better about the future.
Anyway, back to radio silence until I turn that column in, but in the meanwhile you must go visit Zadok. He has tidbits on the new encyclical (the Pope's letter to us), a link to Kids Letters to Satan which is too funny, plus photos from the anniversary of the Swiss Guard a few days ago. And of course go to Ninme, Queen of Links, who will fill you in on the Canadian election, I'm sure --and anything else you need to know. Plus there are all those links to the right.
