Hand In The Air

When the chills set in last night, I plopped myself on the sofa to watch nothing good whatsoever, including my first-ever episode of Lost. This would be utterly without import except that I found this Amy Welborn post suggesting that Lost is an important bit of popular religious thinking. Um, maybe. Be that as it may, I did have precisely this thought at this line, which I'll now let her describe:
Oh, and when drug addict Charlie said, "I'm a good person. I was an altar boy!" - raise your hand if you thought of John Kerry.
Then she goes on.
Interesting, though, that the cry "But I was altar boy!" is understood, and quite properly so, as a lame attempt at distraction from the real issue...isn't it?
