Speaking (as I was in my previous post) of no one criticizing Marxists, that jogged my memory about something a friend sent me last week. The NYT's obituary of one Freddy Wilkinson goes on for seven paragraphs mocking people who accused him of being a Communist or a "servant of Stalin."
The Times no doubt found it convenient that Mr. Wilkinson passed away just now, so they could highlight his opposition to government surveillance of him --how relevant to today! See how a fallen hero of freedom can speak from beyond the grave against Bush!
Only in the 8th graf do we find that Wilkinson joined the Communist Party in 1942, so, in fact, he was a Stalinist. Thirty years as a National Socialist and the Times finds him harmless. Whoops. I mean Inter-national Socialist. My bad. I guess that's ok then.
