The man who strangled the notorious Fr. Geoghan is guilty of murder. But since he's already in jail for life and MA has no death penalty, what's the punishment going to be? In effect, MA has imposed a death penalty for molestation, but no punishment whatsoever for murder. This also implies what as kids we used to call "free licks" on the imprisoned, right? I don't know how to solve this conundrum, but I point it out.
