There's a handy-man service that runs ads on several local talk shows here. Their big selling point is that you have no idea who's entering your house when you let in a handyman --and they do thorough background checks on their people. There's a tag line at the end about employees being actually qualified for the work, but definitely the main attraction is: "Hire us, we won't rape your wife."
I bet they get a lot of business. I admit I absolutely hate admitting repairmen when I'm alone with the kids precisely because one never knows. . . . But that such an ad should be an accurate read of the public's concerns is a terrible thing, isn't it?
