This primitive nativity is an Andy Warhol. According to the The Tablet, Warhol was a devout Catholic his entire life, the "shallow me" being something of an act. I don't know that I trust any press person's definition of "devout" (the press tend to use that word to mean "one of us, in spite of being Christian"), but it's interesting.
