Ahmed Chalabi's a "good guy" again. Now that Colin Powell's been out of town long enough. WaPo had this to say a few days ago. And here's Hitch on the subject, (curtsy: Ninme).
Now here's a conspiracy theory for you. The National Catholic Register editorialized against the war in Iraq --but Chalabi looks just like (not so much in the Slate picture, I admit, but everywhere else) Reg. publisher Fr. Owen Kearns, LC --and has any of you ever seen them together? I thought not. I say the whole war is being manipulated from the North Haven offices of NCR. Which as a Legionary of Christ apostolate, has the ear of the Pope. Who, as a fundamentalist Christian, has the ear of George Bush and the evil Republicans.
And now, my friends, you have the entire plot of the next Dan Brown novel.
But seriously, I wanted to plug the Register site because it has good stuff up, not just because I really do think Chalabi looks like Fr. O.
