It would hardly be original were I to observe that we're in the throes of a new puritanism. But, because it made me smile, I pass this along. A friend is signing up to be an instructor for the Presidential Classroom program. Nothing against the program, which I'm sure is great, but friend noted that the application form reads in part: All volunteer instructors must adhere to Presidential Classroom Terms of Participation and code of conduct while serving on the staff, including no consumption of alcohol or smoking on the GUCC premises. . . .
Friend says he feels like writing in, "Is dancing allowed?"
