My Hero

At last night's Theology on Tap, I ran into an old friend, who just happened to be the MC for the evening. He was absolutely elated to tell me he was being deployed to Iraq next month. DIA business, he couldn't tell me what. I thanked him for his willingness to serve, but also asked him in frankness if he felt any trepidation. "I volunteered!" he said, "I can't wait to get there." How does this country with all its faults continue building such men?
