Speaking of (see previous post) pop-radicals without much fizz, check out the third item in this WaPo gossip column. The FBI once investigated John Lennon as a potential Communist threat, but concluded otherwise.

An agent concluded that Lennon "appears to be radically oriented" but "does not give the impression he is a true revolutionist, since he is constantly under the influence of narcotics."
