By now you've heard the conspiracy theory that "the guvmint" deliberately blew up the New Orleans levees to wipe out black people. (Air America hosts are pushing it, among others). I guess anything is possible, but did you notice this tidbit in Michael Barone's column this morning?
It's like having Wile E. Coyote for President, isn't it? (Alternative punchline: don't tell Rod Dreher about this).
By no means all the worst damage was done to black neighborhoods: The 17th Street Levee break first flooded the heavily white Lakeview area west of City Park(the only part of New Orleans that voted for President Bush in 2004).
