The political philosophy major in me cringes whenever people say, as they frequently do, "everything's gotten so political lately." As if that were a bad thing. The problem is not that everything's so political, but rather that hardly anything is --that is, hardly anything is truly left to politics --meaning the people of the town, city or state duking it out over issues until some kind of accommodation or solution is reached. Therefore, I cheered heartily on reading this post over at Mere Comments.
