Something Good in NCR

Don't like to plug National Catholic Reporter --and don't. However, their reporter John Allen is terrific. Here's his latest dispatch from Rome. Not always quite on the right side of things, but a terrific and fair journalist. Many interesting things about the Papal trip to Bari, relations w/ the Orthodox, and the relationship between parishes and movements. And how come John Allen is the only Religion writer who noticed that Bari is the home town of St. Nicholas? Yes, that St. Nicholas. Spousal Unit thinks other religion reporters are too ignorant to know.
